The Tertiary Place

The Tertiary PLACE Inc (TTP) is a not-for-profit, tax deductible gift recipient providing post-secondary, lifelong learning opportunities for adults with disability. Our educational, creative and physical activity programs incorporate the performing arts, support for families, physical fitness, social inclusion, animal studies, cultural studies and more. Upon completion of their schooling, adults with disability vie for government funding to access post-school programs. With limited money to go around, funding is rationed; most school-leavers with intellectual or cognitive impairment miss out on funding altogether. As a result, while robbed of funding, individuals are simultaneously deprived of the opportunity for further learning and development. TTP wants to change this. At TTP, our practice is guided by the belief that people with disabilities: have a right to funding; make valuable contributions to society; and can achieve, learn and grow throughout their lives. The Tertiary PLACE has developed a ‘Scholarship Fund’ to benefit individuals who do not win the funding ‘lottery’. Contact TTP for more information.
