History of the SEBCC

The South East Brisbane Chamber of Commerce commenced in 1995 with the help of Chartered Accountant Peter Marsden.

Meetings were originally held at the Carindale Hotel until 1997 when the SEBCC moved breakfast meetings to the Carina Leagues Club.In 2009 the increasing Membership numbers necessitated a larger venue and so the Business at Sunrise breakfasts were moved to the current venue – The Colmslie Hotel at Morningside. (Colmslie Hotel, Corner Wynnum & Junction Roads, Morningside.)

The SEBCC logo

The South East Brisbane Chamber of Commerce logo utilises the image of honeycomb as symbolism for our aim to promote business growth for our members. Honeycomb is created by bees working together to form mutually rewarding outcomes. Team work and support for business growth is exactly what SEBCC encourages amongst our members.

SEBCC Today

From its humble beginnings the SEBCC has now grown to have over 100 members. The Chamber continues to grow in strength and membership. Our vision “Doing Business Bridge to Bridge” reflects our aim of growing business in the Chamber catchment area between Greenslopes (Story Bridge) and Carindale (Gateway Bridge). Other suburbs in this region include Holland Park, Mt Gravatt, Camp Hill, Carina and Mansfield.
